Granite State Organizing Project

Granite State Organizing Project, New Hampshire’s largest faith-based, grass-roots, community organization, seeks to strengthen communities, empowering them to find their voice and effect change. The work is rooted in accepting, respecting, and valuing each other. GSOP comprises many faith communities, labor unions, community groups, and individuals who care deeply that justice and equity is available to all.

Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS) is a non-profit agency whose mission is to help refugees and other displaced people establish new lives, strengthen hope, and contribute to the vitality of Connecticut’s communities. IRIS is a non-sectarian, independent nonprofit refugee resettlement agency that has welcomed more than 5,000 refugees to Connecticut since 1982.

Welcoming persecuted people from other countries is America’s most noble tradition. IRIS helps newcomers on the road to self-sufficiency by providing lifesaving support during their transition to life in the United States.

Hartford Deportation Defense

Hartford Deportation Defense is an immigrant-led mutual aid collective that works to fight for the rights of all immigrants in the Hartford area, so that we can all have access to a dignified, peaceful, and joyful life. We think ICE, CBP (Customs and Border Patrol), and immigration detention should be abolished. Nobody should be put in a cage for trying to find a better life.

The Advocates for Human Rights

The mission of The Advocates for Human Rights is to implement international human rights standards to promote civil society and reinforce the rule of law. By involving volunteers in research, education, and advocacy, we build broad constituencies in the United States and select global communities. An independent, nonpartisan non-profit organization founded in 1983, The Advocates develops partnerships and mobilizes volunteers to address some of the most pressing issues of our time. We use this volunteer model because we believe that everyone has the power and responsibility to advance human rights.

Uconn Migrant Farm Workers Clinics

UConn and the Connecticut Area Health Education Centers (CT AHEC) Program strive to help migrant farm workers overcome these barriers by conducting medical and dental screenings on site at farm worker barracks free of charge. The UConn Migrant Farm Worker Clinics operate annually from June to October offering diagnostic and treatment options for a variety of conditions, both acute and chronic. For over a decade, the UConn Migrant Farm Worker Clinics have annually provided between 300 and 600 migrant farm workers with primary care screenings, oral health screenings, and distribution of medications for mild and self-limited conditions, as well as preventive health education.

Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants

The Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants (CIRI) is a statewide nonprofit organization that assists refugees and immigrants resolve legal, economic, linguistic and social barriers so that they become self-sufficient, integrated and contributing members of the community. CIRI achieves this mission by providing a compassionate array of high-quality legal, social and educational programming and by promoting cross-cultural understanding and decent treatment for all.
