Granite State Organizing Project

Granite State Organizing Project, New Hampshire’s largest faith-based, grass-roots, community organization, seeks to strengthen communities, empowering them to find their voice and effect change. The work is rooted in accepting, respecting, and valuing each other. GSOP comprises many faith communities, labor unions, community groups, and individuals who care deeply that justice and equity is available to all.

New London Homeless Hospitality Center

The Homeless Hospitality Center is a place of safety and welcome to adults facing homelessness in southeastern Connecticut. About 600 people will seek help this year. HHC welcomes every individual as their guest at their shelter and Daytime Hospitality Center on State Pier Road in New London.

Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS)

Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS) is a non-profit agency whose mission is to help refugees and other displaced people establish new lives, strengthen hope, and contribute to the vitality of Connecticut’s communities. IRIS is a non-sectarian, independent nonprofit refugee resettlement agency that has welcomed more than 5,000 refugees to Connecticut since 1982.

Welcoming persecuted people from other countries is America’s most noble tradition. IRIS helps newcomers on the road to self-sufficiency by providing lifesaving support during their transition to life in the United States.

Creative Living Community Connecticut

CLCC seeks to create a shared, inclusive living experience for individuals with and without developmental disabilities in a farm community, by focusing upon the gifts of all in mutually rewarding relationships. The farm community is the key element of the vision. People with and without a disability interact by living together, working together and socializing together.

The Education Project

The Education Project is a volunteer-run organization that offers free one-on-one virtual tutoring to minority and low-income K-12 students. Their mission is to support students’ academic success and facilitate pathways for college and career readiness through personalized tutoring and mentorship. They believe that by tapping into the power of tutors, building strong partnerships with schools, and embracing technology, they’re creating an engaging and supportive learning experience for students who need it the most. 

Hands on Hartford

Hands On Hartford is a social service nonprofit organization that serves Hartford’s most economically challenged residents in the areas of food, housing, and health. They are also an affiliate of the Points of Light Global Network, which includes volunteer-mobilizing organizations located in nearly 40 countries around the world.

Green Mountain Aid

Green Mountain Aid’s mission is to build mental health resilience through increasing access to holistic, culturally responsive services for refugees and asylees in Vermont and beyond. Organizational goals include the following:

1. Provide mental health services, including psychotherapy and case management.
2. Increase availability of mental health services by providing consultation and training to mental health clinicians and agencies.
3. Collaborate with community organizations to aid in accessing social services, obtain basic needs and access mental health services.
4. Provide evaluations and training for N648 medical waivers.
5. Provide training and consultation on working with interpreters in mental health settings.
6. Provide outreach to stakeholders to ensure culturally responsive and pertinent services.
7. Aid families in supporting loved ones from whom they are separated.
8. Advocate with agencies and government to ensure access to these services are being prioritized.

Windham Community Food Network

The Windham Community Food Network is an alliance of diverse community members, farmers, businesses, agencies, and partners who are working together to build relationships, share ideas, and develop projects to promote access to healthy food, generate economic opportunities, and promote diverse community participation in problem-solving for the Windham Region. Their mission is to “create opportunities for the community by building a healthy food network.”
