Alex Branzell
Events & Communications Coordinator, Gladstein Family Human Rights Institute
Alex Branzell is a Connecticut native passionate about social policy and political economy. He supports the HRI team on communications, events, and research initiatives. The interdisciplinary and collaborative orientation of the global human rights community is what initially drew him to the field, with a primary focus on migration, inequality, and demography in his own work. Alex has also served as an adjunct faculty member with HRI, developing a course in Economic Development and Human Rights in early 2025.
Prior to joining the Gladstein Family Human Rights Institute, Alex worked for the Oxford Consortium for Human Rights, the United Nations, the U.S. Department of State, and Human Rights Campaign. He holds a MSc in International Social & Public Policy from the London School of Economics. Alex joined UConn in 2021 and became a Husky himself in 2024 with a graduate certificate in Geographic Information Systems. Outside of UConn, Alex is an avid traveler, motorcyclist, and father to a corgi named Zeus.
