Imge Akaslan is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Political Science at the University of Connecticut. Imge holds a BS in global and international affairs from Middle East Technical University (Turkey) and an MA in political science from Binghamton University (SUNY).

Imge’s research area is economic and social rights and protest. She wrote her master’s thesis on human rights gaps and protests: “Human Rights Gaps and Internal Conflict: A Comparative Analysis.” She also focuses on human rights measurement. During her time at Binghamton University, Imge worked on the Cingranelli and Richards (CIRI) Human Rights Data Project with Professor David Cingranelli.
